Final EIR approved, Farmers Field is coming!
The Los Angeles City Council has unanimously approved the Farmers Field Final EIR and other agreements to pave the way for jobs, revenue, and NFL football to return to Los Angeles.
The City Council also voted in favor of the Specific Plan, Sign District Ordinance, Development Agreement for the Event Center and Parking Garages, amendments to the STAPLES Center and Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment District (LASED) Development Agreements, amendments to the LASED Specific Plan and Street Vacation to build the new hall over Pico Blvd.
Together, the approved agreements and documents provide AEG formal City approvals to proceed with the project once a long-term lease with an NFL franchise is formalized.
Jeff Dailey, CEO of Farmers Insurance Group celebrated the decision by the Los Angeles City Council:
Farmers Insurance is proud to be part of the team working to make Farmers Field a reality in downtown Los Angeles. This is a community that we believe in, and that we have served for nearly 85 years. We are ready for football to return to Los Angeles - and we look forward to the revitalization that Farmers Field will bring.
