Farmers Field makes Gov. Brown list of 2011 Milestones and Accomplishments

Governor Jerry Brown recently listed the progress made in bringing Farmers Field to Los Angeles among his milestones and accomplishments for the year 2011.

In September, Governor Brown signed SB 292, a bill that will make Farmers Field one of the most environmentally friendly stadiums in the United States, while protecting the project from frivolous lawsuits.

During the bill's signing, Governor Brown discussed the many benefits that Farmers Field will bring to downtown L.A.:

"It's time for big thinking and big projects that put Californians back to work. Projects like Farmers Field can create thousands of jobs during a tough economic time, so it is imperative for the state to cut the red tape that could delay projects like this for years. These bills strike the right balance between protecting our environment and kick-starting jobs and investment in California."

Farmers Field is proud of the momentous progress that was made in 2011. With the continued help and support of Governor Brown, the California state legislature, the Los Angeles City Council and all Angelenos, we look forward to breaking ground on the stadium in 2012 and finally bringing football back to Los Angeles!
