Ad Hoc Committee recommends vote on Farmers Field

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Farmers Field at the Los Angeles City Council meeting last Friday. It was a great meeting with some engaging and positive discussion on the Farmers Field project. One thing was very clear, our supporters attendance, effort, and letters made and continue to make a difference.

As you probably heard, support for the project at the meeting was overwhelming. Over 800 people attended, so many that the City Council had to open an additional overflow room.

Unfortunately some people who went to the meeting were unable to enter because of how big the crowd was. We apologize to anyone who was turned away at the door at last week’s meeting. The Fire Marshall would not allow additional people into the room.

Don’t worry though; exciting and fun opportunities to get involved in bringing Farmers Field to Los Angeles are on the horizon!

Last night, the Ad Hoc Committee on Downtown Stadium and Convention Center Renovation met and recommended that the Los Angeles City Council vote on Farmers Field.

This recommendation is another huge step forward for Farmers Field as it clears the way for a City Council vote to approve the Memorandum of Understanding and make the jobs, revenue, and professional football the stadium and event center will bring to Los Angeles a reality.

The Los Angeles City Council is planning to meet on Tuesday, August 9th, at 10:00am. We expect the vote on Farmers Field to occur at this meeting

We hope to see you there, and thank you again to those who came to the meeting last week to demonstrate Farmers Field’s support to the City Council!
